Google and it's attempt to crawl react site

(Andrew N) #1

I am curious if anyone here as seen the following in Google Search Console, which I assume is related to Google’s inability to crawl and understand JS well.

Several of my URLs get indexed multiple times with a colon and numbers after it, for example.

Basically every possible URL we have has multiple of the above. In some cases, we are able to remove a lot with canonical tags, but not enough. Can’t seem to figure this one out.

Are you not using a a routing service like react-router? With react-router I don’t have these issues, it seems it works exactly as a normal site.

Google crawls and indexes JS. It’s been clearly documented before. Not by Google but by people experimenting and finding their JS-rendered content in search results.
Also, it appears Google sometimes crawls without JS execution and sometimes with.
